Dog Licenses

All dogs must be licensed at six months of age. Proof of rabies vaccination must be shown before any license may be issued by the Town Clerk. A Neuter/Spay certificate is required for a first time license. All licenses are renewed annually in June and reminder notices are mailed if dog is currently licensed in town.

Dog Licensing Fees

Neutered Male / Spayed Female: $8.00

Unneutered Male / Unspayed Female: $19.00

Kennel Tags (10 Dogs): $51.00

Late Licensing Penalty: $1.00 per month, per dog

Vital Statistics

Marriage Licenses: Fee $50.00 - The license must be obtained in the town of occurrence. Both the bride and groom must appear together at the same location to obtain a license and present photo ID.

Birth Certificates: Fee $20.00 (long form) - Must be 18 or over to apply; parent must have been resident of town at time of birth.

Marriage Certificates: Fee $20.00 - Available upon request; must have been married in South Windsor or a resident when marriage occured in CT.  

Death Certificates: Fee $20.00 - Available upon request; must have died in South Windsor or been a resident.

Notary Public Services 

Administering oath of office and/or recording notary commission certificate is mandatory for South Windsor residents. Non-residents optional. Fee $20.00

Book of Ordinances and Town Charter

The Town Charter and Code of Ordinances are codified and packaged copies are available for $75.00 each at the Town Clerk's office. The Charter and up to date Ordinances can be viewed online.
