Emergency Medical Services

The South Windsor Police Department is licensed by the State of Connecticut Office of Emergency Services (OEMS) as the designated First Responder (R1) agency for the town of South Windsor.  This makes the department responsible for responding to medical calls within the town.  The Ambulance Service of Manchester (ASM) is contracted by the town to perform transport and paramedic-level advanced life saving services.  The police department, along with ASM, are dispatched to medical calls for service.  Our department members are licensed as either medical first-responders or emergency medical technicians as a requirement for employment.
