Pleasant Valley Road/ Clark Street Sidewalk Connections Project

Sidewalk construction as part of the Pleasant Valley Road/ Clark Street Sidewalk & Connections project will begin starting the week of December 5, 2021.  The Town is constructing new concrete sidewalks and new accessible ramps to extend existing sidewalks on Clark Street from the Town Line to Pleasant Valley Road and on Pleasant Valley Road from Clark Street to the Town Line.

Costa & Son LLC will be working on this project and will begin with stakeout, installation of erosion control measures and the stripping of topsoil in the work zone.  They will excavate to install a new stone base and form and pour concrete sidewalks and ramps.  Final work will include paving of driveway aprons where needed and lawn establishment.  We anticipate that this project will be substantially completed by the end of June 2022 with a shutdown period during the winter months.

Streets will remain open during the entire period of construction but expect traffic delays at times while the contractor is performing their work.  Most work is along the side of the road, but one-way alternating traffic may be maintained in the immediate area where work is being performed.  Access to your property will be maintained and gravel may be temporarily placed to transition from your driveway to the street.  The contractor will coordinate with you when it is time to pour concrete sidewalks across residential driveways to give time for the new concrete to harden before opening it up for use.

Normal working hours for the contractor will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  We appreciate your patience during this construction phase of the project.
