Park & Recreation Commission

 

The Commission works to develop new projects as we keep four important goals in mind:

  • Enriching the quality of life for Town residents
  • Contributing to individual personal development
  • Making the community a more attractive place to live
  • Strengthening neighborhood and community ties

The Park and Recreation Commission is an appointed body of ten regular members and two alternates. The Commission advises the Town Council on the active and passive recreational needs for the Town. Regular meetings are held at the South Windsor Town Hall in the Council Chambers at 7:30 pm on the second Wednesday of every month. We welcome your participation.

COMPOSITION:  Ten (10) members and two (2) alternates

ELECTED/APPOINTED:  Appointed by Town Council as referred by either the Republican or Democratic Town Committee

CURRENT MEETING SCHEDULE:  1st Wednesday of the month

GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES:  Advisory. Makes reports and/or recommendations to either the Town Council, or the Director of Recreation concerning the initiation, development, maintenance, or administration of recreational programs and facilities.
