Storm Henri Information

From the Town of South Windsor Office of Emergency Management

Tropical Storm Henri is tracking closer to Connecticut and impacts are expected to increase this weekend and into Monday. If the storm track stays on its current course, the primary concern will be significant rainfall and flash flooding, although strong winds may still cause problems with downed trees and power lines.

Prepare for power outages that may last several days. Finalize assembly of your emergency plan and supplies. Remove items from your yard that could become airborne, such as flags, patio furniture and lawn ornaments. Public Works has made an effort to clear storm drains, but if you have one near your property and notice it has become blocked with debris, your assistance to clear them could help prevent flooding in your neighborhood.
