Reconstruction of Nevers Road

South Windsor – In preparation for the reconstruction of Nevers Road, The Connecticut Water Company has begun relocation of their existing water main beginning the week of May 4th. It is anticipated that the work will take six weeks to complete and encompasses the section of Nevers Road from Lake Street to the Community Center Driveway. Following immediately behind the Connecticut Water Company, the Town’s contractor -Hinckley Construction, will begin installation of new drainage pipes and reconstructing the roadway. Included in the reconstruction of the roadway is the installation of new sidewalks and replacement of drainage culverts at Plum Gulley Brook just south of Ayers Road. Nevers Road will be closed for a period of up to ten days to construct the new culverts during the summer months. The actual closing dates are yet to be determined. It is anticipated that the entire project will be completed by the end of October.

Access will be maintained to all properties along the road during construction. There will be traffic delays due to this work and only one lane may be open to traffic for some of the time. Motorists are advised to drive slowly and use caution on this road during construction.
