Pavement Restoration 2019

Starting on or after Thursday May 30th, 2019, the South Windsor Department of Public Works and contractor B&W Paving & Landscaping, will be repaving Broadleaf Drive, Crestwood Drive, Mountain Drive, Clinton Drive, Imperial Drive, Jonathan Lane, Slater Street, Mascolo Road, and portions of Chapel Road, and Governnors Highway.  All work is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.

Most streets have already had catch basin tops replaced and repairs made to the drainage structures.  Clinton Drive drainage work is currently underway.  The old pavement will be milled to remove 2” to 4” and then 2” to 4” of new pavement will be placed on these roads in 2 layers.  New curbs will be installed and driveway aprons will be removed and repaved.  Finally, topsoil and grass seed will be placed behind the new curbing. 

While this work is taking place PLEASE do not park on these streets during the day or drive on the liquid asphalt tack coat that is placed on the road in front of the paving machine, as it will stick to and possibly damage vehicle tires and paint finish.  One lane of the road will be open at all times but traffic delays can be expected during construction.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeff Doolittle or Jason Scott in the Engineering Department (860-644-2511) weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or jason.scott@southwindsor.org.
