SWCA Presents Pianist Roberto Plano in Concert on January 12

Pianist Roberto Plano will perform as part of the South Windsor Cultural Arts concert series on Sunday, January 12, 2020.  First Prize Winner of the 2001 Cleveland International Piano Competition, Finalist at the Twelfth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2005, Laureate of the 2003 Honens International Piano Competition (Calgary, Canada) and the 2006 Axa Dublin International Piano Competition, Italian pianist Roberto Plano has performed all over the world.  Mr. Plano is an acclaimed teacher, chamber musician, and juror in national and international competitions and has recorded performances under numerous labels, including his debut recording with Concerto Classics which received a 5-star rating from MUSICA magazine.

The program will include Respighi’s “Notturno, from 6 pezzi per pianoforte”; Chopin’s “Mazurke, op. 68” and “Casta Diva”; Liszt’s “Sposalizio, from Années de Pèlerinage, Livre 2 – Italie” and “Miserere du Trovatore, S433”; Villa Lobos’ “Impressoes seresteiras”; Ginastera’s “Milonga, op. 3” and “Suite de danzas criollas, op. 15”; and, Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”.

The concert starts at 2:00 pm at the Wood Memorial Library, 783 Main Street, South Windsor, CT.  Doors are open at 1:30. Come early for best seats.  The concert is FREE and donations are welcomed.  This concert is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of South Windsor and East Hartford.
