SWCA Presents Violinist William Hagen in Concert October 30th

On Sunday, October 30, 2022 South Windsor Cultural Arts will feature violinist William Hagen and pianist Maxim Lando in their opening concert of the season. William Hagen has performed as soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician across the US, Europe and Asia. A native of Salt Lake City, William began his violin studies at the age of 4, studying with such icons as Natalie Reed, Itzhak Perlman at Juilliard and Robert Lipsett. In 2015, he was awarded the 3rd prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and released his debut album, “Danse Russe” to critical acclaim in 2019. Critics have described 19-year-old pianist Maxim Lando’s performances as displaying “brilliance and infectious exuberance” and called him “a pianist who dares to do things not considered by others”. Maxim was recently awarded the 2021/22 Vendome Grand Prize, the 2020 Gilmore Young Artist Award, and was named Musical America’s New Artists of the Month.

The program will include Mozart’s “Violin Sonata in A Major, K.526”; Brahms’ “Violin Sonata No. 1 in G Major, Op.78”; and, Mendelssohn’s “Violin Sonata in F Major, MWV Q26.

The concert starts at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Crossing Retirement Community, 900 Hemlock Ave, South Windsor, CT. Seating begins at 1:30 and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The concert is FREE and donations are welcomed. A reception with the artists will follow the concert hosted by Evergreen Crossing Retirement Community.
