Adopt-a-Road

Purpose of the Program

The Town of South Windsor Public Works Department is pleased to partner with businesses, civic groups, and residents through the Adopt A Road Program. This program offers groups the opportunity to give back to our community by collecting trash along our Town owned roads, making them safer and more enjoyable. This is an opportunity for businesses, or civic groups, to get together two-to-four times a year, show their community spirit, and keep their adopted road clean. What a wonderful way to teach our youth community involvement! Groups will be recognized with the name of the group on “Adopt A Road” signs on each end of their section of road for a period of one year, unless renewed. There are still sections of roads that need to be adopted!

South Windsor Public Works will supply trash bags, trash grabbers,  safety vests, traffic signs for litter pick up, and we will dispose of the bags from the road edge once the cleanup is complete. For more information, or to make an adoption, contact Scott Yeomans at the South Public Works Garage at 860-648-6366.
