What is the Teen Center?
The South Windsor Teen Center provides South Windsor middle school and high school students, 11-18, with a fun, engaging, safe, substance-free environment where they can interact with friends, meet new peers, and get acquainted with Teen Center staff members.
Students can join us during our drop-in hours to enjoy a snack, play games, or do fun crafts. The Teen Center offers a lot to participate in, with countless board games, electronics, air hockey, pool tables, ping-pong, and ski ball. Our Teen Center Supervisors are always ready to engage and get some friendly competition going with games! We’re set in the perfect location, with the trails being so close and Nevers Park right outside our doors, students love getting fresh air after a long day.
We are excited to increase our participation and are looking forward to welcoming new students to join us! Each of our staff members are compassionate, energetic, and thankful for the opportunity to build such strong relationships with students.
In addition to our drop-in hours, special events, youth groups, and programs are scheduled regularly to promote healthy living skills and positive youth involvement. Participants must register annually and sign in each time they come to the Teen Center. To assure the safety and well-being of all participants, a code of conduct is posted and enforced by all Teen Center Staff. The Teen Center also participates in community service activities- listed below!

Rising S.T.A.R.S. - South Windsor Teens Assisting, Respecting, Sharing
South Windsor Youth & Family Services offers the Rising Stars Summer Community Service Program during the summer months for middle school and high school youth who are in need of positive youth development and/or socialization.
The program provides a structured, supervised setting with opportunities for many different kinds of community service projects. Projects are organized by SW Y&FS in cooperation with South Windsor Parks and Recreation Department, SW Food Alliance, and other town or community partners.
Each session is two weeks long, Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Lunch is provided. Transportation to the community service site is provided.
The program is housed at the SW Y&FS Teen Center, located in the Charles N. Enes Community Center. Each session will have a maximum of 8 participants. Participants may be allowed to attend more than one session if approved by the program coordinator.
There is a focus on both team-building and skill-building throughout the session and the second week ends with a field trip. The purpose of team building and outings is to enhance self-esteem, encourage positive group and individual decision-making, practice taking healthy risks, and enhance group cohesion.
Applications for our Summer Program Rising Stars will be available in MARCH 2024
