Meetings are generally held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in the Sprenkel Room, located in the Town Hall at 1540 Sullivan Avenue.

ELECTED/APPOINTED:  Members are appointed by the Town Council

CURRENT MEETING SCHEDULE:  4th Tuesday of the month

GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES: The Commission shall:

  1. Study the needs of the town in the area of mass transportation and present to the council plans and programs for the development of a comprehensive, balanced mass transit policy.
  2. Investigate, analyze, and advise the council on proposals made by federal, state, regional, local, or private agencies in the area of mass transportation.
  3. Recommend to the council those actions necessary for proper participation by the Town in federal, state, regional, local or private programs designed to improve the mass transportation capabilities of the Town.
  4. Coordinate all Town activities relating to mass transportation.
  5. Monitor conditions that might affect changes in traffic patterns or traffic flow in the Town and investigate and propose changes or additions to streets and highways to accommodate these changes and report its findings and recommendations to the Town Council, the Town Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Town traffic authority.
  6. Investigate, analyze and advise the Town Council and Town traffic authority in matters of traffic safety.
