The Wood Library & Museum's 6th Annual Gingerbread House Festival

Free and Open to the Public!

Travel down Lollipop Lane to Gum Drop Street and experience one of the largest gingerbread house festivals in New England. The Wood Library & Museum’s 6th Annual Gingerbread House Festival opens November 25th and runs thru December 10th, 2016. Stroll past fairy-tale houses and fantasy trains

all covered with bright, colorful candy.   Gaze upon replicas of historical buildings alongside edible villages, all created by regional artisans and bakers, students and community members, expert and beginner alike.  The Wood, located on historic Old Main Street, provides the perfect holiday venue for showcasing the sugary artistic creations among sparkling lights and shimmering decor.

Peak in on a Victorian candy shop display or linger at “The Legend of Santa Clause” display. There will even be a photo area where a selfie or family holiday photo can be taken. Select musical performances will also be scattered throughout the festival providing patrons with an uplifting and creative break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.  Finally, don’t forget to stop by “Ye Olde Gingerbread Shop” for the opportunity to take home a bit of the magic with many holiday themed gifts and treats.

The Wood Memorial Library & Museum is located at 783 Main Street, South Windsor, CT 06074. Expanded festival hours are Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 8pm; Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-5pm. The library is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
