Removal of Ash Trees

Notice is hereby given that the Town of South Windsor, Connecticut working in conjunction with Distinctive Tree Care will be performing Ash Tree removal sometime during the week of May 13th weather dependent.  These Ash trees have been infected by the Emerald Ash Borer and will become very hazardous as they die off and fall over . This work will be executed using a rolling work force utilizing a police escort and support from Public Works.  Several pieces of large specialized forestry equipment will be employed to help remove as many Ash trees as safely and efficiently as possible.  The location of the removals will begin on Rye Street, the Farnham Estates neighborhood, Griffin Road, Windsorville Road, Abbe Road, Miller Road, Nevers Road and surrounding side streets.  This is the beginning of the Towns accelerated Ash tree removal program and will continue over the next two years.  If you have any questions or comments please reach out to the Town of South Windsors’ Tree Warden, Vincent Stetson at 860-648-6366
