NOTICE – DART HILL ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

Starting on or after Monday July 1st, 2019, the Town of South Windsor will be making improvements to the roadway on Dart Hill Road from Niederwerfer Road to the Town Line in Vernon, including installation of underdrains and drainage structures, milling and patching of pavement areas, and placement of chip seal overlay surface.  All work is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.

Dart Hill Road has already had catch basin tops replaced and repairs made to the drainage structures.  The additional installation of underdrains and associated drainage structures near Niederwerfer Road will take place starting in the first week of July. Soon after, various areas of the roadway pavement will be milled out and re-paved.  Finally, the entire road surface will be overlaid with a chip seal application.

While this work is taking place PLEASE do not park on these streets during the day or drive on the liquid asphalt tack coat that is placed on the road in front of the paving machine, as it will stick to and possibly damage vehicle tires and paint finish.  One lane of the road will be open at all times but traffic delays can be expected during construction.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeff Doolittle in the Engineering Department at 860-644-2511, ext. 245 weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or via email, jeffrey.doolittle@southwindsor.org
