Buckland Road & Sullivan Ave Sidewalks

State Project L132-0002

The Town of South Windsor has developed preliminary design plans for the installations of sidewalks on the west side of Buckland Road and the east side of Sullivan Avenue from the intersection with Deming Street to the Town Library for a length of approximately 3,300 feet. The proposed sidewalk improvements include an extension of the bridge over Plum Gulley Brook and modifications to three traffic signals to accommodate pedestrians.

The Town of South Windsor will conduct a Public Information Meeting on December 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, South Windsor Town Hall, 1540 Sullivan Avenue, South Windsor, Connecticut. At this meeting, we will present the preliminary design and receive citizen input on this project.

This project has been approved by the Connecticut Department of Transportation under the state’s Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program (LOTCIP). Funding under the LOTCIP program covers 100% of construction costs. The Town will be responsible for all project design costs and construction inspection.

It is the policy of the Town of South Windsor and State of Connecticut to keep persons informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns to assist in the project’s development. All persons interested in this project are welcome to attend the Public Information Meeting.
