ABSENTEE BALLOT INFORMATION FOR THE NOVEMBER 3, 2020 ELECTION

Beginning October 2nd, Absentee Ballots will be mailed to registered voters who have completed and returned a valid Absentee Ballot application.

The Town Clerk’s office will mail the voter an envelope that will contain the following items:

  1. Ballot Box Insert (colored slip of paper with ballot and ballot box information)
  2. Instructions for Absentee Voting
  3. Inner Return Envelope (labeled Envelope B in the upper left corner of the envelope)
  4. Ballot
  5. Outer Return Envelope (labeled Envelope C in the upper left corner of the envelope)

Please be sure to read and follow the instructions carefully which include signing the INNER envelope.

Once a voter has completed their Absentee Ballot (and followed the instructions regarding the ballot and envelopes), they can return it in one of three ways:

  1. Return the ballot using the US Mail
  2. Return the ballot using the Official Ballot Drop Box located outside Town Hall
  3. Return the ballot directly to the Town Clerk’s office in person

We are highly encouraging the use of the Official Ballot Drop Box located outside Town Hall.

If you wish to check on the status of your application OR the status of your ballot, voters can now access the Voter Registration Lookup tool on the Secretary of the State’s website:

Please note that if you choose not to vote by Absentee Ballot, the polls will be open on November 3, 2020 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
