ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATIONS FOR THE AUGUST 11, 2020 PRIMARY

The Secretary of State’s Office will be mailing absentee ballot applications to all registered, active Democratic and Republican voters for the upcoming Primary being held on August 11, 2020.

They will begin mailing the applications during the week of June 22nd.  If you have already applied for an Absentee Ballot for the upcoming Primary, you should not receive a duplicate application in the mail.

Applications sent by the Secretary of State’s Office will be pre-filled with the voter’s information.  Please read the application carefully.  In order to vote by Absentee Ballot, you must select one of the reasons listed on the application.  Pursuant to Governor Lamont’s Executive Order No. 7QQ, an eligible elector may vote by absentee ballot for the August 11, 2020 primary election if he or she is unable to appear at his or her polling place during the hours of voting because of the sickness of COVID-19. For purposes of this modification, a person shall be permitted to lawfully state he or she is unable to appear at a polling place because of COVID-19 if, at the time he or she applies for or casts an absentee ballot for the August 11, 2020 primary election, there is no federally approved and widely available vaccine for prevention of COVID-19.

Completed applications should be returned using the postage-paid envelope provided.  Absentee Ballots for the Primary will be mailed to voters beginning on July 21, 2020.

Please note that if you choose not to vote by Absentee Ballot, voting at the polls will be available on August 11th from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
