REQUIRED INFORMATION WHEN APPLYING FOR A PERMIT

WORKERS COMPENSATION / 7A WAIVER

Please upload proof of current Worker’s Compensation form or a completed and signed 7A waiver form (which can be found on our website) to the online permit portal “Attachment” section. If you are a homeowner pulling a permit, you will still be required to fill out a 7A claiming that you are the homeowner and will not be acting as a general contractor

 

PERMIT FOR FINISHED BASEMENT

(Building, HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing permits required)

Please provide the following:

Drawings with dimensions – include floor plan with:

Room labels

Type of framing materials / insulation values / wall & ceiling coverings

Ceiling heights

Stair details & stairway ceiling height

Window / door sizes & locations

Include egress details if area to be finished has a bedroom proposed

Heat / Cooling specifics – include heat loss calculations

How combustion air for appliances will be addressed

Exhaust fans (if applicable)

Electrical work

 

BATHROOM REMODELS

(3 separate permits required) - Building Permit, Electrical Permit, Plumbing permit

Please upload a floor plan showing bathroom layout and surrounding rooms with details.

Will there be any structural changes made? If so, please show on plan.

 

ROOF PERMITS

Please include:

HIC License

Proof of Worker’s compensation or 7A waiver

Please indicate the size of the area to be covered.

Please indicate what type of materials will be used.

Please indicate if installing full Ice & Water or taping the seams.

 

SWIMMING POOL PERMITS

A separate Electrical Permit IS REQUIRED to be submitted with the swimming pool permit application (we recommend a licensed electrician)

Please submit documents with specifics for pool structure, filter, alarm & ladder.

Please complete, sign & upload Swimming Pool Requirement form found on our website.

Please include a structural plan signed and stamped by a CT licensed PE.

Please keep in mind that all above ground pool ladders are required to have self-closing / self-latching gates and are also required to be fixed into position.

 

WOOD STOVES

Please upload stove model # and specifications as well as any chimney lining material you will be installing.

Workman's compensation or 7A form required!

 

GENERATORS

Electrical Permit and HVAC Permit - (if neither the electrician or HVAC technician is providing the generator then a Building Permit will be required to cover the cost of the generator)

Please provide load calculations.

Who will be supplying the generator? If the contractor is not providing the generator then the owner is responsible for pulling a building permit to cover the cost of the generator. (Please provide specifications, the model # and the size of the generator.)

(read below and/or find 'Deck Review Checklist' under the forms and documents section to fill out and upload to your online permit application)
